The MOT test changes on March 20 to include more examinations of all vehicle types.
The changes are to comply with new European requirements on roadworthiness and include additional checks on brakes, steering, suspension and lighting. Warning lights covering electronic power steering and brake fluid are included in the beefed-up test along with engine mounts and speedometer checks.
These changes that are being introduced from 20 March 2013 are as a result of the European legislation. These changes will not affect the basic cost of a test.
